Second Annual Miss Chadwick Pagaent Winners

On Saturday, November 1, Chadwick School held the 2nd Annual Miss Chadwick Pageant.  All of the contestants did a fantastic job!  They were poised, confident, and full of grace.  The 2014 queens are pictured above: Kaylee Garrison, Tiny Miss Chadwick; Kali Purdome, Little Miss Chadwick; Hannah Clausen, Young Miss Chadwick: Makenzie Walker, Miss Chadwick; and Cora Michael, Overall Talent.

The pageant was held as a fundraiser to benefit the Cardinals for Confidence Club.  Cardinals for Confidence is a new program that began last year with the mission to encourage, promote and build confidence in students.  The club was created by sophomore Hailey Farris and is supervised by Mrs. Linda Tankersley. Club meetings are open to all students in 5th – 12th grades that attend Chadwick Schools.

The club focuses on confidence building activities because low self-esteem is a major factor in a lot of issues students face.  Bullying, peer pressure, adolescent crime, teenage pregnancies and suicide are a few of these issues that are so prevalent in today’s society.  When a person doesn’t have self-confidence, he or she is more likely to engage in negative activities.

The Cardinals for Confidence Club helps students to realize their self-worth and the worth of others through fun group activities, games, workshops and most importantly community service.

The following sponsors were instrumental in making the pageant a success: Legacy Bank and Trust, Jeanne Groh Photography, Hair Rage, and Hazel’s Flowers.
