Here’s What We’re Working On:

Reading

Theme 10 Week 1

This week we read about two bear cubs who want the same piece of cheese and a sly fox who outsmarts the bears and gets the cheese.   As we read, we practiced making predictions.  Have your child sing, “What Will Happen Next.”  For activities to reinforce what we are working on at school you can go to the following  link:  www.eduplace.com

• Fact practice-
• Subtract half of a double
• Identify geometric solids
• Written Assessment 24
• Counting dimes, nickels and pennies
• Identify and count quarters (have your child sing, “I Can Count by Quarters.”
• Measure and draw a line segment to the nearest centimeter
• Subtract a 2-digit number with out regrouping
• Divide a set of objects by sharing
• Use comparison symbols (<,>,=)
• Take a survey and make a bar graph
• Calendar Time (have your child tell you some of the things we do during this time)
